Waitlist Questions

What does it mean for either WIC or Senior FMNP to be on a waitlist?

A waitlist means that no more coupon booklets are available to new participants in certain counties at this time. Double-check either WIC FMNP or Senior FMNP – these are separate programs.

How do I know if there are still booklets available in my county?

Senior and WIC FMNP applicants will be notified of the status of their application via email. Applicants may be: approved, waitlisted, denied due to ineligibility, or pending/incomplete.

My county and program have a waitlist notification. How do I get on the waitlist?

Complete the WIC or Senior FMNP application and you will be notified of the status of your application.

Why is this happening?

AZFMNP will distribute benefits to participants according to available  funding, after which a waitlist will be formed. Funding availability may change throughout the year.

Can I still spend my coupons in a county that is on a waitlist?

Yes, all coupons given out to customers will be honored and can be spent up until their printed expiration date. WIC FMNP and Senior FMNP coupons are valid through November 15, 2026.

I still need food. Where can I get help?

AZ Food Bank Network provides a map of local resources: https://azfoodbanks.org/get-food/  If you know someone with SNAP/EBT benefits, Double Up Food Bucks may help to stretch your food dollars at a location near you: doubleupaz.org/locations. WIC clinics remain open to assist families with young children.

What’s the likelihood that a client will get off the waitlist?

Funding availability may change throughout the year, and while we cannot comment on the exact likelihood, we encourage WIC participants and eligible seniors to apply. In the event additional funding becomes available, individuals on the waitlist for coupons will be contacted in the order they applied.
